The goal of the Integrating Human and Automated Tutoring (IHATS) project is to build models that predict which students will use human tutoring, when they will use human tutoring, and which human tutoring interactions will produce the greatest learning. IHATS proposes using a recommender system within an AI classifier system which lets the student know when it is time to approach a human for assistance.
